Abdiwahid Biriq is a graduate of Birkbeck College, University of London and BPP Law School (London). He is qualified as a solicitor in the UK. From 2006 to 2011 he worked with Ahmednasir, Abdikadir& Co. Advocates before leaving to establish Sagana, Biriq & Co. Advocates.
Mr Biriqa’s practice areas span from real estate development and conveyancing, capital markets, property development, project financing, mergers and acquisitions, takeovers, joint ventures, aviation law and sharia law.
Abdiwahid was involved in the formation of some of the first sharia-compliant banks in Kenya, the first sharia-compliant insurance company (Takaful) as well as the first sharia-compliant employment scheme (FCB Capital Limited). He has several years of experience in drafting sharia-compliant and conventional security agreements and security documents.
He advises on inter-juridical commercial and corporate law, tax law and is skilled at developing and implementing standardized and specialized policies and procedure in compliance with anti-money laundering laws and regulations.
